A sidewalk between Aspen Cove & Countryridge on Dolly Ridge would be a great priority. It would allow more walkability to school from the neighborhoods & encourage kids/families to spend more time outside.

As a Countrywood resident with 3 children who will be living here and attending Vestavia schools for 11-18 more years I strongly support the addition of sidewalks both on Dolly Ridge connecting to the school and Rocky Ridge to at least the Countrywood neighborhood entrance. Kids walk from Countrywood to the Rocky Ridge business district all the time and are cutting through private property and walking on busy streets to do it. Adding sidewalks to both of these areas would greatly increase VH safety and walkability! Thanks!

I have lived on Dolly Ridge Road or on a feeder street for 23 years. With the addition of Dolly Ridge Elementary a few years ago, traffic has increased tremendously as people take their children to school and also sporting events at the school. A large number of students live within walking distance to the school and would have the ability to use the sidewalks to get to and from school. Connecting all schools together with sidewalks has been a priority for the city and I believe should continue. Additionally, there are numerous people who walk and cycle DRR and should be able to do so safely to get to the business district of Rocky Ridge Road. Connecting the sidewalk from Rocky Ridge Road at least past Magnolia ridge due to students living in these areas should be 1st priority followed by complete connection to Cahaba Heights to join our Vestavia communities together.

I support the plan to increase the number of sidewalks in Vestavia. Especially on Dolly Ridge road. It will make the road more safe and pedestrian friendly.

I hope that the Council and Mayor will continue to prioritize funding for additional sidewalks. My personal priority is to see a plan and then construction along Rocky Ridge Road where we have an opportunity to create a beautiful trail that will open up many walking and riding corridors. I understand that much of RRR is outside of Vestavia Hills city limits, but I hope that we can work with the County to develop sidewalks on their right of way. RR Road itself needs many improvements that the County is unlikely to spend money on, but being that it is travelled predominantly by VH residents, it seems to me that VH would be interested in creating a development agreement of some sort.

Dolly Ridge Road - sidewalks on Dolly Ridge Road from Dolly Ridge Elementary down to Rocky Ridge Road should be a priority. I see people almost everyday trying to walk along Dolly Ridge Road. I think residents and students in this area would appreciate the walkability down to Rocky Ridge Road and the business district.

Please do not connect Montclaire Drive through to the back of the movie theater. There are already security issues in that back corner of Kentucky, through the woods and up the alley to the Montclaire neighborhood. Connecting Montclaire Drive to Montclaire Lane on Laurel could accomplish similar connectivity to the City Center without introducing any new "hidden" pathways.

I want to reiterate the strong support for a sidewalk along Dolly Ridge Road. Statistically, it is likely that a majority of the students at Dolly Ridge Elementary live in Countrywood/Countryridge, on Dolly Ridge Road, or one of its numerous feeder streets. Safe access to sidewalks, particularly on a street as busy as Dolly Ridge Road, is imperative for students in the area who want to walk to school. Not only does this promote a healthy lifestyle for our students, but it also limits vehicular traffic on the streets around the schools during drop off and pickup, as more students would be walking. I also fully support the others who have replied in favor of expanding sidewalk access near all of the other Vestavia schools as well.

I have lived on Knollwood Court for 2+ years. Many residents in the area are dog owners/dog walkers and also have children/grandchildren. The section of Sunview Drive from Christopher to Asbury is perilous. There are no sidewalks or gutters, the road is narrow, and the street is a common cut-through for speeding cars. Please consider Sunview as a priority for repaving and sidewalks. All of Christopher Drive is used as a cut-through and would also be much safer with a sidewalk. Thank you!

I've lived on Haviland Drive for 24 years. I'll still be here for several years more. There is a very large amount of pedestrians and kids on scooters that take Haviland Drive, to Georgia Avenue and then to the post office/Walgreens/McDonald's and to the rest of the Highway 31 businesses. The amount of speeding drivers has always been a HUGE concern for me on Haviland Drive. It's the perfect "cut through" to get along Highway 31 without being in the traffic. I'd love some study of the traffic. I have in the past used the sidewalks from my home to the Rocky Ridge business district with great joy. Thank you for any consideration of our street.
