The 2017-18 Calendar Committee has been at work planning for the 2017-18 school year. Earlier this month, the School Board directed the committee to include professional learning for staff, limit the use of adjusted dismissal days, make staff days and professional learning days on Mondays and Fridays when possible and make winter break as long as possible. With this feedback in hand, the 2017-18 Calendar Committee created two calendar options for the 2017-18 school year, which are now available for community review and input.

• Option A has two embedded days of professional learning for teachers during the school (Monday, Oct. 9 – Columbus Day and Monday, Feb. 19 – Presidents’ Day).
• Option B also has two embedded days of professional learning for teachers.One of these days would take place during the inservice week, which would move a staff day (including opportunities to make up previously missed professional learning sessions) to the week before inservice week. The second professional learning day would take place Monday, Oct. 9 – Columbus Day.
