About this survey: 

In Phase One of Reid Park Reimagined -- May and June of this year -- the Tucson community contributed 2,752 surveys and 21,599 comments about Reid Park. This wealth of information has helped to shape three concept alternatives with imaginative proposals for the future of Reid Park. These concepts are bold and will help the community identify trade-offs and priorities among diverse cultural, recreational, and environmental opportunities.  

Community feedback from the Phase Two survey, the Sept. 10 open house, and pop-up events, will focus on the three concept alternatives. 

Learn more about the concept alternatives by participating in a special scavenger hunt at Gene C. Reid Park! Explore the Park to locate the 12 BIG IDEAS for the master plan. The more ideas you find and upload to the scavenger hunt site, the more opportunities you have to be a winner in the random prize drawing. Prizes will vary. Winners will be contacted one week after the scavenger hunt ends.

The City of Tucson is embarking on an exciting master planning process for Gene C. Reid Park. Over the years the sculptures have been witnessed to vandalism, and the current park site requires maintenance related to paving, site walls, and landscape improvements. The City of Tucson Parks and Recreation has assembled a design team to solicit a public response to proposed improvements to the park site, interpretive signage, and security upgrades to assist the creation of a new master plan to guide future upgrades to the Garden of Gethsemane.

Your input is needed in the FY22 Budget for the City of Tucson!

The City of Tucson has created a new budget engagement tool in English and Spanish to provide a summary of the budget and gather input. Community members can assign discretionary funds to different areas of the City’s budget.

You'll find information about the Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22) tentative budget for departments that provide direct service to the community along with some information about the services those departments provide to the City. After review of the City Manager's proposed funding distribution, you'll have an opportunity to share how you would distribute funds to these departments.

The Mayor and Council will review the feedback from this process, Budget Town Hall Meetings, and the City Manager's recommendation prior to adopting the FY22 Budget.

SURVEY OPEN: GENE C. REID PARK AND REID PARK ZOO EXPANSION COMMUNITY CONVERSATION

On March 9, 2021, the City of Tucson Mayor and Council voted to pause the Reid Park Zoo expansion plan for 45 days so the community could provide additional input. A detailed description of the engagement process and timeline is viewable on the website in both English and Spanish. 

A survey is now open for the community to see and learn about eight concepts regarding the Zoo expansion and possible changes to Gene C. Reid Park, weigh in on each concept, and offer any other ideas not covered by those presented. The concepts are based on input from the Core Stakeholder Group, the Reid Park Zoo Master Plan for expansion, and City of Tucson staff. 

The survey can be taken online in both English and Spanish. The survey will close at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13.

A new comment portal is now open regarding the Gene C. Reid Park and Reid Park Zoo Community Conversation.

The City is developing a group of leaders from key stakeholder groups who will provide input into the process and outcomes moving forward. Work will be concluded within the engagement timeframe. Please submit your comments by April 20, 2021. The City will be providing a number of avenues for public comment, including this public comment portal.

Every five years, the City of Tucson Housing and Community Development Department creates a plan to identify and address the needs of the most vulnerable members of our community as well as neighborhoods that have historically lacked investment. The City is due for an updated plan. The People, Communities, and Homes Investment Plan (P-CHIP), focuses on the barriers to opportunity facing low-income Tucsonans then allocates funding (both federal and local) to help create pathways, strengthen resources, and build an infrastructure of opportunity for those in Tucson who need it the most.

On June 23rd, the Mayor and Council will be discussing Ordinace 11746 related to the obstruction of an officer in performance of their official duties and are collecting public input.

The Ordinance prohibits a person from entering a crime scene or investigation scene without permission of an officer; and prohibits a person from knowingly obstructing or hindering a police officer or Community Service Officer who is exercising his or her official duties.
