    • Other - This land is zoned one house per acre and not 10 per acre as Ward 1, Tucson Planning and Development and the Land Lawyers want.

    • Strongly disagree

Stop building treeless heat islands and this project will be one. 10 houses on an acre on land zoned at 1 per .80 acres is a heat island. This land is now zoned for development at basically one home per .80 acre with about 1/2 of the property un-developable, 22 lots and 44 houses will work great. Keep it that way! Our M&C are being asked to degrade this intact patch of Upland Sonoran Desert for the profit of people who do not live here, and housing designed explicitly for outsiders, these housing products are way too expensive for nearly all in Tucson, our Median Household Income $44,315. A huge priority is to get Ward 1 to support my neighborhood, WDNA. Ward 1's electorate are 100% against this project and Ward 1 does not even respond in any meaningful way to our phone calls and emails. In 2003 Ward 1's Jose Ibarra supported us 100%, he did so because he wanted to help us stop a very similar proposal, he recognized our right to say no to something that would harm us and degrade the local environment, say nothing of traffic and flood dangers. SO, priority #1 is to not allow the Conditions of Annexation to be removed or lifted on these 60 acres by Tucson's Mayor and Council. Please vote no! Seems like after Barnum Hill, Benedictine Monastery, Mountain Enclave, and even the long ago crime, the destruction of the Old Barrio for the Tucson Convention Center, our Mayor and Council needs to start listening to the people who elected them and not the developers and their friends in Tucson Planning and Development.

  • What types of community benefits should accompany any potential development projects in this area? Please select your top 3 responses.
    • Other - Develop this land with the Conditions of Annexation intact, 22 lot and 44 homes will offer all of the above.
  • What additional comments or questions do you have regarding the 36th and La Cholla site?

Stop everything! Tucson's Mayor and Council can prevent the D R Horton 170 housing product development by saying NO to changing the Conditions of Annexation. The property owner does not have the legal right to develop the land at more than what MH-1 zoning allows. Only our M&C can make that happen. The property owner bought the land zoned MH-1 and unless they can rezone the land, they are stuck and maybe should sell and figure out another way to exercise their huge desire for profit.
