I'm really appalled at how the process for the proposed expansion has gone. I voted for the ballot measure for increased funding for the zoo. No mention was ever made of expansion, never mind enclosing one of the most popular parts of Reid Park behind a wall, and demolishing mature shade trees. The zoo has tried to both sneak this in under the radar, and then bully and ram it through when that didn't work. If I had known that they planned expansion with the additional funds, I would have voted against the ballot measure. Tucson has precious little public park space, and what we do have needs to me preserved. I do *not* support any zoo expansion that encroaches on public park space.
Open Town Hall is not a certified voting system or ballot box. As with any public comment process, participation in Open Town Hall is voluntary.
