The City of Tempe, in partnership with Maricopa County Flood Control, are upgrading the existing Indian Bend Wash multi-use pathway between McKellips and Curry Roads. The current path connects the Rio Salado Multi-use Path and Tempe Town Lake to the City of Scottsdale. The design will consider access, connectivity, safety, landscaping, and other upgrades consistent with the city's shared-use path standards.
The vision for the Wash is to simultaneously act as a landmark for open green space and a multimodal artery connecting Scottsdale and Tempe. This project will take into account the opportunity to take advantage of the urban open space, and respect the function of the wash as a flood mitigation measure regulated by the County Flood Control District. This is the second survey to get your feedback on design plans base don the first survey in March 2025.
