What do you want to see in the wide alley between Concorda Drive and Aspen Drive, west from Selleh Park?
Project Overview
This project will establish a design for a bike and pedestrian pathway in the wide alley from the NW corner of Selleh Park to McClintock (between Aspen and Concorda) and is being led by the Alameda Meadows and McClintock Neighborhood Associations with support from the City of Tempe and consultants. The design will be based on neighborhood input, collected data, and project goals. The plan is to include a pathway, trees/other plantings, stormwater collection and other features that support sustainability, shade, beautification with art as an option. Currently the unimproved alley is used for walking and biking, but it collects many weeds and much trash in the middle; the intention is that the improvements will create an enhanced environment while also eliminating the issue with center alley dumping.
Study Area
The study area is the wide alley located between Aspen and Concorda from Los Feliz to McClintock.

Process
The design team will develop concepts based on the information received from the neighborhood as well as the physical layout of the alley (including constraints based on utility and easement locations).Concepts may range from simpler options that can be more quickly applied for less money, to longer term options that would require additional outreach and inclusion in the Capital Improvements Program. There currently is not any funding for construction.
Outreach and Engagement
The project will offer multiple opportunities for residents to meet and learn more about the ongoing project. We anticipate two additional future meetings in the Spring to review design options and then a final proposed design. Meeting invitations will be sent out by the City of Tempe.
A public meeting was held on Dec. 9 about this project, view the meeting recording and more project materials here.
