Comments / Other Suggestions for Location 1:
Can we petition the state to lower the speed limit in this stretch? If I understand correctly the law permits lowering the speed limit on state controlled roads if the safety data indicate a need. Surely the data provided in this survey qualify.
What safety improvements would you like to see at priority project location 2? (select all that apply)
Increased Pedestrian Crossing Time and Install Pedestrian Detection
Signal Timing Improvements
Pedestrian Median Refuge Islands
Narrow Lanes to 11 Feet
Buffered Bike Lanes
Green Bike Lane at Conflict Zones
High Visibility Crosswalks
Changeable Speed Warning Signs
Comments / Other Suggestions for Location 2:
See comments for Location 1. Between just these two intersections alone, we have 10 fatal or serious crashes and more than 100 speed related crashes (based on the %s indicated). Speed is clearly a significant factor. Reducing the speed at least to the 35 mph to match location 5 would certainly help. I have a hard time imagining that we can approach vision 0 without measures to control speed. These probably need to include speed limit changes and traffic calming measures of some sort.
