Signal Timing Improvements

Traffic Enforcement by Camera
Comments / Other Suggestions for Location 1:
More people are crossing el camino here than they used to in the mornings when I go to a class. The lights are annoying since they turn red on El Camino just as you arrive from the previous light. They also stay red when nobody is crossing, including pedestrians. Irritating.
This is not a light that many people go through on red, at least not compared to the light by the medical center just before 85.

I seldom see bikes or pedestrians here. I do see people cross against the lights between Murphy and Mathilda, once in ahwile

Traffic Enforcement by Camera
Comments / Other Suggestions for Location 3:
Maybe if the people who continue through the red lights at El Camino and Wolfe got tickets, they would follow the lights better. Practically every time I've been at this intersection, people go through on red lights, and not just in one direction.

Increased Pedestrian Crossing Time and Install Pedestrian Detection
Pedestrian Median Refuge Islands
High Visibility Crosswalks
Add Left Turn Signal
Comments / Other Suggestions for Location 4:
I have seen cars drive stupid in this area, changing lanes unsafely and I have seen pedestrians cross against traffic. If you figure out where the collisions are, the high visibility crosswalks may help. A left turn signal may also help since its not always easy to see from the intersection around the curves.

What safety improvements would you like to see at priority project location 6? (select all that apply)
No Right Turns on Red Signal
Comments / Other Suggestions for Location 6:
I used to drive here a lot, before the increase in badly behaving drivers occurred. Last time through the intersection driving south on Mathilda, I was almost hit by overly aggressive drivers turning right on a red light. The only way these entitled idiots will stop is if you put a no right turn on red, at least during commute hours, and start handing out tickets.

You could make the left turns from the 24 hour fitness lot illegal before and after Fremont High School is in session. If you made the entrance to the gas station at the North East corner in from Sunnyvale Saratoga, and exit onto Fremont, most of the stupidity at that corner may be avoided.

Unless you want to close Apple, I don't think you can do much. I am not impressed by some of the drivers who want to turn left onto Wolfe, exit the shopping center, and block through traffic when there is no space to get in the left lane. If you made the shopping center traffic exit through Linnet and add a light there, the traffic heading east would be less confusing. It would also help if signs telling you which lane to be in before you get to the intersection, so you have fewer drivers changing lanes at the last minute. Maybe two right lanes close to the intersection: one for Apple, the other for the 280.
