By far, the most helpful will be traffic enforcement by camera. Speeding is a problem but left turns during a red light are increasing by the month. If citations (with fines) can be issued with camera data, that would be awesome! Meanwhile, we need a police officer on motorcycle at the intersection of El Camino Real and S Mathilda Ave, where drivers run the left turn red light routinely.

This region of El Camino Real seems to have a different kind of problem from the stretch between S Mary and S Mathilda. The problem for pedestrians seems more dangerous. HOWEVER, part of that problem is due to pedestrians not following the traffic controls. Lengthening the crossing time is problematic for the flow of vehicle and bicycle traffic. However, pedestrians might be more willing to follow the law if they had a median waiting place before completing their crossing of El Camino Real, especially near Sunnyvale Ave.

This "triangle" seems to confuse a lot of drivers. Some drive impossibly slowly on a green light while others think they can gun it to make it through both intersections (Fremont Ave & El Camino Real). It appears (my anecdotal experience) that the primary problem is drivers heading north on S Wolfe who are trying to get to the north side of El Camino Real. However, some drivers traveling east on Fremont also drive as if they are confused at the triangle intersections. I don't know of a logistical solution for this kind of problem of being a confused person. If there is a significant amount of traffic incidents due to drivers being under the influence, it's very important to understand that separately. It's possible that a flashing sign with the excessive speed indicated would help to some extent.

W Maude between N Mathilda and N Mary Ave has become a nightmare. Drivers emerge from office buildings in Peery Park onto W Maude and attempt to cross all lanes of traffic to turn right onto N Mathilda Ave (headed south) or to cross lanes of traffic to turn left at N Mathilda Ave (headed north). Drivers sometimes stop, perpendicular to the flow of traffic while attempting a left turn onto W Maude from office building driveways. The simplest, cheapest, and safest solution to this dangerous situation is to route all office building traffic to Pastoria and Potrero Aves with traffic control at the exit points from the office campuses. Then, drivers can safely turn left or right onto W Maude without injury to bikers, pedestrians, or motorists.
The recent changes in lane configurations and light timing at W Maude and N Mathilda have helped at that one intersection. Thanks!

The primary problem that I see at the intersection of E Maude and N Fair Oaks happens on the west side of the intersection. The right lane becomes quite congested, to the point that there is no way for people wanting to make a left turn to get to the intersection in time to turn on the left-turn green light. Drivers park their cars very close to that intersection, particularly on the southwest part of the intersection (before N Fair Oaks when heading east). There must be zero parking allowed for at least 100 ft on E Maude in the east direction of traffic (between Worley and N Fair Oaks).
The secondary problem is allowing left turns across all lanes of traffic, coming out of Chavez Supermarket and the adjacent shopping area (with Tres Potrillos Restaurant).
