What is most important to you about Hollenbeck Avenue?

On December 2, 2025, Sunnyvale City Council approved an option to remove all on-street parking on both sides of Hollenbeck Avenue between Danforth Drive and Alberta Avenue, and to implement Class II Buffered Bicycle lanes along the segment. The decision included prioritizing pedestrian improvements along the corridor that were previously identified in the City’s Active Transportation Plan, which was adopted in August 2020. The Council directed staff to include the concept plan as an unfunded project in the Fiscal Year 2025/26 budget, pending identification of funding sources. Staff will look for grant opportunities for the Design and the Construction phases of the project. As a result, there is no established timeline on the implementation of the project.
