Sunnyvale must adopt a new six Council district boundaries based on 2020 Census data. The 2020 Census data shows that Sunnyvale’s Council districts are not population balanced and must change. The population count between the largest and smallest districts can be no more than 10%.
The City's Redistricting Commission oversaw the process. They asked community members to submit draft map proposals to balance Sunnyvale's districts. They then narrowed the options to four "focus" maps from 25 submission. Based on your input, they selected a preferred map and are recommending two other map options to the City Council.
The City Council will consider adopting one of these three maps on Tuesday, Feb. 22. Let them know which map you prefer.
