  • Are there areas of concern you have with the current Ethics Code?

Yes..... Sugar Land City Council members also sitting on the Development Corporation creates the opportunity for significant conflict of interest. How can City Council members take election contributions from Developers who they then negotiate with as members of the Development Corporation?

  • Are there issues you believe are missing from the current Ethics Code that need to be addressed?

Conflict of interest needs to be much more clearly defined, and circumstances where City Council members and development Corp members MUST recuse themselves from decisions MUST be detailed

  • Any other additional information you would like the Citizens Ethics Task Force to consider?

The importance of clarifying conflicts of interest and when elected officials MUST recuse themselves from decisions
