August 8th, 2024, Public Hearing: Cambria REH LLC Plat & Conditional Use Permit

This item was continued from the April Planning Commission meeting for Cambria, Scott County and Louisville and Sand Creek Townships to address the frontage road between Smith Drive and Bluff Drive.  Cambria, Scott County staff, Louisville & Sand Creek Townships had a DRT meeting on the request on February 14, 2024.  Cambria REH is purchasing the north ½ of the Shakopee Sand silica sand mine, processing facility and rail yard. Cambria REH is requesting a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) and preliminary plat approval to use the site for a rail served materials trans loading and processing facility. The site is located west of Highway 169 and east of the Union Pacific rail line and Minnesota River floodplain.  The site is zoned I-2, Heavy Industrial and allows a rail served material trans loading & processing center under a CUP.
