August 8th, 2024, Public Hearing: Rezoning, Preliminary Plat & Final Plat of Warren Addition
Site Photo- View of the two existing O’Brien parcels.
David and Connie O’Brien are requesting a rezoning of two parcels they own in section 19 of Belle Plaine Township. Both parcels are zoned A-1, Agricultural Preservation District, and are over 40 acres, which is the minimum lot size in the A-1 District. One parcel has a single-family residence, and the other parcel has a farmstead with the original farm home and agricultural buildings. The parcels are uniquely configured as the two residences are located in a wooded area of around 8 acres abutting Laredo Avenue, each has a portion of the 43 acres of agricultural land, and each parcel has some small strip of property extending east to 30 acres of woodland. In addition to rezoning to A-3, Agricultural Preservation Density District, the owners would also plat the two residences on smaller lots, separate the agricultural land on its own outlot, and create two outlots for the wooded land for recreation and hunting.
