On July 18, 2023, the Santa Clara City Council established a seven-member Charter Review Committee (“Committee”) for the purpose of making recommendations on what, if any, changes should be made to the City Charter provisions that provide for an elected Chief of Police and/or an elected City Clerk.
The Charter Review Committee has been asked to solicit input from members of the public on their preferences regarding potential changes to the City Charter. To help inform your opinion, the Charter Review Committee respectfully requests that you review the "Background" section of the 2023 Charter Review Committee webpage.
On behalf of the City of Santa Clara, the Committee thanks you in advance for your thoughtful engagement on these important City issues. The results of the survey will be included in the final report from the Committee to the City Council which is scheduled to be heard on November 7, 2023.
