What are your priorities for a recreation facility at Bay Meadows Park? Please allocate the dots to your top priorities.
What are your perspectives as relate to the relationship between the Recreation Facility and the surrounding park?
I'd be curious to understand the role that Nueva plays in funding and maintaining the facility. Assuming they will use the space as they use the park grounds today.
The wetland garden area is pretty unusable space, and it would make sense to turn that into open picnic tables under covered trees.
What is your vision for a recreation facility at Bay Meadows Park?
I had never considered that there would be an indoor facility at Bay Meadows Park. One of the draws to this part of San Mateo was that there was wide open space that was untouched and available for public use. I love it just as it is.
Anything that happens in terms of adding facilities that create additional congestion should also include underground parking. We should not under any circumstance give up open green space for concrete parking lots.
I have a deep concern for the parking and traffic problems that already exist with AYSO and soccer activities going on there - the drivers park in the red, make U-turns everywhere, and honestly are not looking out for other drivers and pedestrians. They are just looking for their kids as they are in motion. It's very dangerous.

What are your perspectives as relate to the relationship between a new Community Center that replaces Joinville Pool and the surrounding park? If necessary to accomplish your Recreation Facility priorities, would you support expanding the Recreation Facility size? Please discuss your perspectives.
The existing aquatics facilities should be retrofitted so they are safe for the public to use. This should be a priority above all else.

My guess would be that 47 spaces is not enough for the surrounding community to remain unimpacted by the influx of visitors. A picnic area would be nice... outdoor gathering space.

In your opinion what should be done with the Shoreview Center?
If you selected "convert it to another special use" please elaborate:
No response.Additional comments on the Shoreview Center:
If the city of san mateo is going to be in the business of offering preschool facilities and services, they should be to the standard that CA puts forth for large daycare facilities. If not, then they should use the space for other things or tear it down and build a great outdoor park an playground for the community.
