What types of improvements would you like to see made to the existing skatepark?
- to echo others, no Wormhoundt obstacles, keep it simple; the space is small. This can be re-addressed if we are able to extend the park into the tanbark between the skatepark and the parking lot or into the grass area that is adjacent to the basketball courts
- we need lights; they don't need to stay on too late; 10ish PM is standard
- a bench/hangout area so that non-skaters don't sit on ledges and obstacles
- refinished surface similar to Milpitas, Foster City, or Mayfair skatepark in San Jose; be careful that it doesn't suffer the same issues as Fremont skatepark
- if the fat flat bar is replaced with a newer one, don't use the large surface area super tall flat bars that were used at Sunnyvale and Redwood City; use 2 3/8's schedule 40 pipes similar to what was used at Waller. If this happens, it could be nice to have it be consistent and replace the down rails with similar sized tubing, but this isn't essential depending on the budget
- quarter pipes corner pockets in the corners of the park that are currently planters would be welcome, not too big, but enough to keep speed and have fun, probably around 3.5 - 4ft; a long quarter pipe that stretches along a large portion of the ledge that is closest to the parking lot could be really cool
- I think that the pier 7 replica is probably the least skated obstacle, and three of the pier 7 manny pads are unneeded; we could probably keep one, but I would be open to suggestions about what else to use the space for
- not so much an improvement, but I believe it's essential to keep a flat bar and a long mid sized ledge in the park regardless of what other changes are made to the park
- don't use the rounded soft coping that is used at Red Morton in Redwood City and Fair Oaks in Sunnyvale; it sucks for smith grinds
- if the corner with the 3 stair is redone, make sure that there's another slappy curb to replace it
