Which mural do you want painted in Downtown San Mateo?

We are in the process of selecting an artist(s) to create a mural that will be displayed in downtown and want your feedback on which designs we should select! In the summer of 2020, the San Mateo City Council requested an art project that would promote racial equity and identified the Civic Arts Committee (CAC) to help lead this effort.  

The art project will be a mural (or a few murals) painted on the street of the B Street Pedestrian Mall in Downtown San Mateo.  The mural(s) will be installed in the middle of the street and will have a lifespan of 3-5 years.  

The City issued a request for proposals and several artists submitted designs and we’re now looking for your input on the submissions! Your feedback will be shared with the CAC and City Council as they consider which mural(s) to select. Learn more about the process.
