What feedback do you have on the proposed policy (including project applicability, compliance measures, and exemptions)?
I think under major additions that 500 sq. ft. on a home that is 1,200 sq. ft. is Major" but 500 sq. ft on a 2,500 sq. ft. home may not be considered "major". Adjusting the square footage that would exceed 500 for a larger home should be considered. If you are adding an ADU, I think the existing home should not have to meet any new requirements. On the 500 sq. ft. and/or the 50% remodel of an older property, have there been any considerations what PG&E might have to do from the overhead lines/transformer ? those kind of things? Timing for PG&E to come out and complete any work that may be required ? In the overall scope of things, what does this actually accomplish in the long run to meeting any city/regional or state goals. Sort of seems like it doesn't do much. What about schools, county properties within the city limits ? Can you think of anything else that could be added to the "menu" to pick from? Have you thought about any "incentives" for property owners to encourage doing this ? Maybe permit fee reductions ? Older/historic properties may not be able to accomodate the requirements, please take that into consideration. Thank you for your time.
