What feedback do you have on the proposed policy (including project applicability, compliance measures, and exemptions)?
I think we need to push for more to meet our climate goals. I think that owners should be required to do more than one of the requirements and similar to the way the 20% valuation threshold for accessibility is written into the code, provide a minimum percentage in required upgrades, suggest 10% towards energy efficiency upgrades or if they have these systems installed, toward a pool that would help provide energy upgrades for existing affordable housing in the city limits. Climate change is real and is happening. It has been proven time and time again that these upgrades have such a small impact on the overall project budgets, and we need to all come together to make the biggest impact that we can. Additionally, anyone who can afford to take on an elective upgrade, can afford to pay for these upgrades.
