Did you know that buildings are the second-largest source of climate pollution in San Luis Obispo? The City of San Luis Obispo plans to cut greenhouse gas emissions from energy use in existing buildings by 50 percent by 2030. Achieving this goal will require a healthy mix of incentives, rebates, and new public policies.
That’s why City staff are creating a proposed public policy called the “Energy Efficient Renovations Policy.” The policy will require energy efficient improvements when major alterations or major additions are undertaken in existing residential buildings in San Luis Obispo. City staff have heard from a variety of constituents and are offering this survey as an opportunity to provide your input online.
More details about the proposed policy are provided in the survey below. If you are interested in or impacted by this policy but were not able to attend recent workshops to provide feedback, please take this survey.
Your input will be considered as City staff makes final touches to the proposed policy before it is presented to the City Council on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
