In March 2023, the City of San Luis Obispo adopted its first Homelessness Response Strategic Plan in alignment with the Countywide Plan to Address Homelessness. Since the City does not receive direct funding from the State of California to provide homeless services and programs – our plan focuses on the City’s role in connecting individuals to countywide services, advocating for improved services and programs, and partnering on regional, innovative strategies to prevent and address homelessness.
While the City has identified and implemented several strategies to make a positive impact in our homelessness response efforts, we do not have the capacity to implement them all simultaneously and we are continually adapting to meet current needs. Through this survey, we are asking the public to provide meaningful input and prioritize resources they believe will have the greatest impact based on their experience within our community.
