Are there any other comments that you would like to add to help the City define the ideal candidate and be successful in recruiting the next Community Development Director?
The Central Coast is experiencing unprecedented crises in housing affordability, accessibility, climate, and economic resilience - all of which are inextricably linked. We need a Director who won't phone it in and maintain the status quo for a small, vocal minority of residents. We need a Director who will think about progressive ways to prepare our community for the future. The next Director must be both enthusiastically pro-housing and pro-transit, and also fiercely protective of our amazing greenbelt! A good candidate will have an inspired vision and be able to communicate change, even difficult change, in a way that is approachable.
