The current east-west corridor is sufficient for decades. No expansion is needed. Highway 2 Boyer to Dover should have bike/walk path on the second side.
It would be fine if Baldy extends to meet Highway 95 by Ponderay. That should be the priority, not widening Highway 2 or building "the couplet" within the Sandpoint residential/commercial area. We need to reduce and slow through traffic, not encourage it.

I agree with this proposal. Reducing truck traffic on Division Ave is key to keeping our students safe.

Seems like the ideal time to work WITH BNSF to construct an over-pass over the tracks on Boyer. There's plenty of room, its primarily a residential area ( becoming more so now) and there WILL be more trains when the second bridge is finished. The RR will always be seeking more business which just means more delays and horn blasts around the clock. The tolerance for train impact/disruption in this town is incredible. I'm not new to Sandpoint and see no reason why this topic is continually ignored. It's fixable, or at least improvable and I'd be more than happy to see my tax dollars spent on train impact mitigation. Let's do this!
