The purpose of this survey is to decide whether the Hopkins Avenue Traffic Safety Project should be implemented permanently.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the pilot installation on Hopkins Avenue has lasted much longer than originally planned. Our design consultants restarted work to incorporate community feedback from the February 2020 meeting into the final design for the Hopkins Avenue Traffic Safety Project. This input is reflected in the updated, final design posted here. You can also see a printout of the design posted at Stafford Park and Dingee Circle. Please check out the final plan and vote on whether you want the final design to be installed permanently on Hopkins Avenue. Voting will be open until April 25 and please note that only one vote per address will be counted (if we receive more than one vote, the last vote received will be counted).

After closing, the survey results will be distributed to the stakeholder list and posted on the project web page. Please note that our online survey tool reports responses in real-time BUT it presents the raw data. It DOES NOT include responses to paper surveys, separate the responses for those who live within the project area OR remove duplicate responses. We will present all of the votes received (online v. paper, project area v. total responses, number of duplicate votes), but the final results will most likely look different than what you see presented online when you vote. If there is majority support to make the design permanent, the final concept will be brought to the City’s Transportation Advisory Committee for recommended approval and then to City Council for funding approval and authorization to proceed to construction. If there is NOT majority support for the design, the street will be restored to its original configuration as part of a planned pavement resurfacing project this summer. When specific meeting dates are set, we will post an update and notify you.
