James Hall
- Provo: Provo resident, owns property in Provo, works in Provo.
- Reason for Applying: I’m wrapping up a role on the Provo design review comittee and looking for a new way to get involved in the neighborhood. I love Oak Hills and would be happy to help it grow and become even better.
- Goals: Near term: Ensure safe routes to the new Wasatch, more neighborhood involvement in maintaining and preserving Rock Canyon. Long term: Help build community among the neighborhood, help preserve the aspects of Oak hills that make it special.
- Experience: I was the chairperson and vice chair of the Provo Design Review Committee. I served in the committee for over 4 years.
About the Program - The Neighborhood District Program provides public participation and involvement in Provo City affairs and facilitates communication between the Provo City Council and the public. The Neighborhood District 2 Executive Board is made up of two representatives from each of these neighborhoods: Oak Hills, Wasatch, Foothills, Provost, Provost South, and Spring Creek. Responsibilities of the Neighborhood District Executive Board Members are to --
- Listen to Your Neighbors: Be the go-to person for your community's concerns and ideas.
- Shape the Agenda: Decide what's important for Neighborhood District meetings.
- Keep Everyone Informed: Alert residents about proposed developments and changes.
- Represent Your Community: Speak up at Planning Commission and City Council hearings.
- Get Funding: Apply for grants to support neighborhood projects.
- Organize Events: Plan service projects and neighborhood socials to bring everyone together.
The two Neighborhood District 2 Executive Board Members representing the Oak Hills Neighborhood serve 48-month staggered terms. The current board member is Mitzi Collins and the outgoing board member is Michael Barber.
