About the Program - The Neighborhood District Program provides public participation and involvement in Provo City affairs and facilitates communication between the Provo City Council and the public. The Neighborhood District 1 Executive Board is made up of two representatives from each of these neighborhoods: North Timpview, Riverbottoms, Sherwood Hills, Riverside, Edgemont, Indian Hills, Rock Canyon, and Pleasant View. Responsibilities of the Neighborhood District Executive Board Members are to --
- Listen to Your Neighbors: Be the go-to person for your community's concerns and ideas.
- Shape the Agenda: Decide what's important for Neighborhood District meetings.
- Keep Everyone Informed: Alert residents about proposed developments and changes.
- Represent Your Community: Speak up at Planning Commission and City Council hearings.
- Get Funding: Apply for grants to support neighborhood projects.
- Organize Events: Plan service projects and neighborhood socials to bring everyone together.
The two Neighborhood District 1 Executive Board Members representing the RIverside Neighborhood serve 48-month staggered terms. The current board member is Robert Hammond. (There is no outgoing board member for this neighborhood).
