- Reason for Applying: I love my neighborhood and want to help out. It’s a great place.
- Goals: Safety, aesthetics, functionality, welcoming, friendly, good morals values.
Laura Marre
- Provo: Provo resident.
- Reason for Applying: I believe it is important to have good communication between the citizens and our government.
- Goals: I would like to learn more about how our city government works and serve to the best of my abilities.
About the program: The Neighborhood District Program provides public participation and involvement in Provo City affairs and facilitates communication between the Provo City Council and the public. The Neighborhood District 2 Executive Board is made up of two representatives from each of these neighborhoods: Oak Hills, Wasatch, Foothills, Provost, Provost South, and Spring Creek.
Responsibilities of the Neighborhood District Executive Board Members are to --
- Listen to Your Neighbors: Be the go-to person for your community's concerns and ideas.
- Shape the Agenda: Decide what's important for Neighborhood District meetings.
- Keep Everyone Informed: Alert residents about proposed developments and changes.
- Represent Your Community: Speak up at Planning Commission and City Council hearings.
- Get Funding: Apply for grants to support neighborhood projects.
- Organize Events: Plan service projects and neighborhood socials to bring everyone together.
The two Neighborhood District 2 Executive Board Members representing the Wasatch Neighborhood serve 48-month staggered terms. The current board member is McKay Jensen and the outgoing board member is Ryan Nelson.
