District 1 (Indian Hills): What do you think of these applicants for Neighborhood District Executive Board?
The following residents of District 1 have applied to be on the Neighborhood District Executive Board (each District has a board of 7-11 members to lead District meetings and provide feedback to the City Council - currently District 1 has no one representing the Indian Hills Neighborhood).
Please no disparaging or defamatory comments. You may also email the City Council directly at [email protected].
District 1 representing Indian Hills
Robert Walz
Brigham Young University - Associate Teaching Professor, School of Communications.
"I would like to represent the Indian Hills neighborhood to make sure we have adequate representation within city government and to make sure the residents of our neighborhood receive timely and accurate information. I have 25 years experience as a working journalist and 22 years experience teaching journalism and Public Relations at BYU. I covered Provo city government for KSL Television for 15 years and understand many of the issues facing the city of Provo and the people who live here."
Becca Kearl
Living Room Conversations - Executive Director.
"I strongly believe in the power of community and was happy to hear about the restructuring of the neighborhood program. That momentum can be leveraged to increase a sense of belonging in Provo and amplify resident voices. Post COVID and a series of divisive elections, it's more important than ever to foster and strengthen local communities. My career has given me deep experience in holding community dialogues around the country and I want to bring that experience to my own neighborhood."
