On July 21st the City of Alpharetta released a revised concept plan for the redevelopment of 22 acres of City-owned property in the heart of Downtown Alpharetta. This revised plan reflects ideas and comments provided by citizens through a previous Open City Hall forum, public meetings, and online surveys conducted throughout June and July.
While the basic components of the development remain the same as in the previous concept, the new plan has a much different overall feel. Featuring buildings with smaller footprints, the majority of a parking structure being placed underground, and key buildings in closer proximity to one another, the revised concept is better oriented to the pedestrian. A less formal design and more natural lines to the main park space soften the overall development.
Information about the project, including current conceptual images and presentations from public meetings, can be found at www.alpharetta.ga.us/downtownproject.
Public input has already done much to shape this project. Please take a moment to view the available information and then share your thoughts on this revised concept plan.
