Enough local connectivity without using major roadways such as State Route 9 or Old Milton Parkway
Why has Westside Parkway not been finished? So sad that Alpharetta cannot do a better job of managing resources.

I am apposed to highway 9 running through the city, I think they should make an Alternate Highway 9 around town using Westside Parkway. Better yet eliminate the desigination highway 9 all together then we could have Main Street USA look like Canton Street in Roswell from Hembree to Windward.

Sufficient network of multi-modal options, such as bicycle paths and sidewalks
MARTA to Windward would surely help, but I don't think that is solely a city issue.
The city does need to facilitate safe walking and biking to stores, schools, businesses and eventually MARTA.
The Greenway is a great asset and needs to be completed to the Forsyth county line.

There is definitely a problem with lack of bike paths and sidewalks in my area. I live near the Crabapple intersection and the sidewalks only go for a very short distance before ending and starting up a distance a way. I don't know of any bike paths near here. We live less than a mile from several major shopping areas and I have to drive since I have kids and don't feel safe walking with them without curbs and sidewalks. I think the roads around here are fine, I don't want any roads widened or added to this location. The light at Rucker and Crabapple is a problem. It gives Rucker a green for way to long as there are few cars on that side and traffic really backs up on crabapple.

I've read all the comments posted so far and am very grateful this system is here for us all to comment.
I've lived in Alpharetta for four years now. Originally from California. I really was surprised at the lack of planning out here and the challenges that any plans would face anyhow.
Example: Soon after we moved here we watched the city 'renovate' the intersection at Crabapple corners. The old curbs were torn out, they put in a new light, new curbs and new landscaping. I had so many questions. Why did they do that? Just to beautify the intersection? Why couldn't they make the intersection bigger to facilitate flow of traffic? How did that project help people get to work or back home? How did it foster interest in that part of town or spur commerce? From what I can see all that happened is that the curb is prettier while you are sitting at a light. It seems very short-sited. That intersection will eventually need to be torn up again and made much larger.
I agree with the comments that when things are built such as sidewalks or bike lanes there needs to be an intent for connectivity. There really are tons of sidewalks and bike lanes to nowhere. So they can only be used for exercise.
The biggest problem is with traffic piling up in various areas because of lack of connectivity and wider roads off the major roadways though.

It is difficult to get from downtown Alpharetta to southern section Greenway

Sufficient transit options, such as bus or rail
We need MORE public transit! We need MARTA rail to run all the way to Alpharetta, and more bus service!

Open City Hall is not a certified voting system or ballot box. As with any public comment process, participation in Open City Hall is voluntary. The positions in this record are not necessarily representative of the whole population, nor do they reflect the opinions of any government agency or elected officials.
