I own a business at 134 N Main St. This project would take my entire front yard. My building was built in 1929. Please don't destroy the charm of downtown. When I bought this building I was hoping that Hwy 9 could end up looking like Canton Street in Roswell. I would hope for extremely pedestrian friendly slower traffic through downtown. Westside Parkway is supposed to handle through traffic.
Please don't waste the money on widening this road. Save what little charm we have left in this area!

This is not a good idea. Keep the downtown for slower downtown business and have Westside Parkway completed and designated as the bypass for those traveling through.

Absolutely not! It will have a negative impact on my business in the Historic Downtown Business District and will increase traffic speeds through this corridor. It will take away from the charm and character of this area which is why I chose this area for my business.

I am a business owner on Hwy.9.
I think we do not need to widen the road so much.. better to use multiple cross walks throughout the downtown area, with flashing yellow lights to keep traffic slowed down. There is nothing wrong with going slow through a small town. The no left turns would destroy business on Main Street.

please use westside parkway to move the traffic through our town. Westside parkwy is under utilized and hwy 9 needs to stay slower and more aligned with small town life.

I think the changes will make Main Street safer for pedestrians, motorists and cyclists. I also believe that more people would use cycling as a means of transportation, especially on the weekend, if the city had better bicycle access. After this project, a bicycle lane the length of Mayfield road would be great!
