Montgomery Parks is proposing numerous improvements in Maplewood-Alta Vista Park. Please review the conceptual design options for the renovation and provide your feedback on the proposed features. The comment period will be open until February 12, 2024. This project proposes to renovate the western half of Maplewood-Alta Vista Local Park. The park currently features a variety of amenities including tennis and basketball courts, a playground, and a softball/soccer field overlay. An activity building is currently leased to a private entity. The project intends to make infrastructure improvements to the park including:  

• Renovation of the parking lot  

• Renovation of the basketball courts 

• Repurposing one tennis court into a multi-purpose court for soccer and basketball  

• Improving connectivity between park elements    

• Addition of walkway connections to Linden Avenue and Alta Vista Road 

• Improvements to park drainage with the addition of stormwater management/bio-retention facilities,   

• Addition of seating areas and/or a small shelter    

• ADA accessibility improvements  

• Landscape enhancements 

*Renovations to the athletic fields are excluded from this project.
