Please help us identify City buildings, parks, sidewalks and other areas that need accessibility improvements by taking our survey.
The City of Sammamish recently started a process to identify and inventory City public buildings and public rights-of-way, such as parks and sidewalks, that may not fully meet accessibility standards. With this inventory, we can develop an ADA Transition Plan and begin improving problem areas over time. This survey should take no more than 15 minutes to complete. Thank you!

There only a few days left to complete our Stormwater Capital Improvement Survey. Thank you to everyone who has already taken the time to complete the survey.
As the City of Sammamish matures, growth, redevelopment, and new regulations trigger the need for new and more complex stormwater projects. The City must balance demands such as protection of infrastructure, environment, and public safety with our two most limited resources: budget and staff time.
The City needs an objective, transparent, and consistent method for ranking and prioritizing potential stormwater Capital Improvement Projects (CIPs) based on City priorities.
City staff are developing a method by which to rank and prioritize potential projects for Council approval. As we develop this method, we want to hear community input and priorities to incorporate into our method. Please take a few minutes to complete this important survey today!

The City of Sammamish has contracted with Davey Resource Group (DRG) to develop an Urban Forest Management Plan (UFMP). A key component of developing this plan is your input on your vision for the City’s urban forest.
The survey questions provide an opportunity for you to provide the City input during the early stages of plan development. Your input will help guide the plan development and help us to better understand how the community values trees.
The survey should take about 10 -15 minutes. The success and value of the UFMP is dependent upon public responses from individuals like you. Thank you for your participation!

There are only a few days left to complete the Sammamsih Home Grown survey. Survey responses must be received by midnight on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. If you've already completed the survey, thank you! Your perspective is much appreciated.
The community survey is designed to gather input for the housing strategy plan- Sammamish Home Grown. The purpose and objective of Sammamish Home Grown – A Plan for People, Housing, and Community – is to guide the implementation of the goals and policies adopted in the Housing Element of the Comprehensive Plan. The strategies included in the plan will be developed around five categories that align with the goals and policies in the Housing Element of the Comprehensive Plan: Housing Supply and Variety, Neighborhood Vitality and Character, Housing Affordability, Housing for People with Special Needs, and Regional Collaboration. The City of Sammamish’s current Housing Strategy Plan was adopted in 2006. Sammamish Home Grown will serve as a work plan that helps staff transform policies into near-term actions and determine priorities for the preferred strategies. For more information regarding Sammamish Home Grown – A Plan for People, Housing, and Community – visit the project website at http://bit.ly/SammamishHomeGrown, or contact Doug McIntyre at [email protected].

Please provide feedback for our Health and Human Services Needs Assessment by taking this survey.
Sammamish promotes a healthy community, where meeting basic human needs is considered a shared responsibility. Although the City is not a provider of Health and Human Services, it collaborates with local and regional agencies that do.
The City of Sammamish is conducting a Health and Human Services Needs Assessment to learn more about the needs in our community. Information provided here will be used to develop an Implementation Strategy. Your feedback will be used by the City to determine how it will support Health and Human Services over the next few years.
Thank you for your time!

Since the Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PRO) Plan was first adopted, Sammamish has experienced annexation and rapid growth. It’s time to update the plan to ensure the community’s evolving priorities for parks, open space, and recreation facilities and programs are accommodated.
The updated PRO Plan will provide a roadmap for continuing to provide high-quality, community-driven parks, trails, open space and recreation programs throughout Sammamish for the 6-10 years.
We hope you’ll help us create this roadmap by participating in this Virtual Town Hall. Thank you for your time and energy!

The doors have swung open on a new Virtual Town Hall – this one on city finances! Please take a few moments and let us know what you think the city should do going forward. Should the city raise more revenue to accelerate investments in roads and other infrastructure? Or should we limit spending to current revenue levels? Your answers to these questions will be front and center when the City Council gathers for its financial retreat on June 29. Thank you for doing your part to maintain the city’s excellent financial health!

We need your feedback to develop strategies that will help support and encourage business in Sammamish. Please share your opinions on the local economy!
Do you leave Sammamish to buy goods and services? What are our economic strengths and weaknesses? Your answers to these survey questions will be valuable for making future decisions about the direction of Sammamish’s economic development. Feedback from this survey will be combined with input from the business community to develop recommendations that will help us prepare for future growth.

What do you think about Sammamish's proposed plan and strategies for acquiring new lands?
We are developing a 'land acquisition strategy' to proactively acquire more land to serve public needs. We’re beginning this process by asking for your input.
In addition to developing new parks and trails, we are also focused on preserving natural resources, wildlife corridors and the community’s tree canopy. In part, this strategy has been prompted by growing concerns in the community about rapid residential growth. We aim to adopt this “Land Acquisition Strategy & Implementation Policy” by the summer of 2017.

Thanks to those who contributed to this important online discussion of growth and development in Sammamish. With over 1,000 visitors to Virtual Town Hall, and 410 responses (266 registered; 144 unregistered), the growth topic drew robust public comment.
A complete summary of the feedback has been posted on the Virtual Town Hall forum.
Here are a few key themes:
- Residents love Sammamish for its friendliness, excellent schools, safe neighborhoods and natural beauty.
- But there’s been too much growth, too fast, since the economy picked up.
- Roads and other infrastructure have fallen behind population growth.
- The traffic is terrible.
- We need to slow down and let infrastructure catch up.
- We’re losing too many trees to development
- New development should fit in with the character of existing neighborhoods

Like much of the Puget Sound region, our city received a number of service cuts during the 2008 recession. Despite considerable growth in our community in the last 8 - 10 years, only limited service has been restored.
We have been actively engaged in discussions with both Metro and Sound Transit about the need for enhanced bus service to our community.
Please help us make the right choices by adding your voice to the discussion.

When the city sent the November city newsletter to the printer late last month, the Virtual Town Hall on bus service was scheduled to be open by Nov 1. Unfortunately, there has been a slight delay, and that means the current newsletter contains an erroneous headline: “Virtual Town Hall on bus service is now open!”
Sorry about that. The Virtual Town Hall on bus service should be open in the next few days. We will notify you once it is open for participation. Thanks for your patience.

Please take a moment or two to answer a few questions and help shape the future of Sammamish!
