After traveling extensively throughout the state for baseball events I have so so many wonderful facilities and they all have one thing in common - artificial turf on the fields. Every time we get a rain-out on ESP 1 and 2, especially the ones that are announced later in the day, it becomes a huge waste of resources. Just one rain-out for one game has an impact on 24 players' families, 24 unnecessary car trips, 24 unnecessary times where folks leaving work early to arrange rides, 24 times more carbon emissions in our air. Then , some games are cancelled altogether, never to be made up, and also, they get bunched up on the make-ups, i.e. we play 5 games in 6 days - not good for the kiddos for obvious reasons.The only clear solution is to install artificial turf on ESP 1 and 2. This will virtually guarantee no rain-outs. It is a problem that needs to be addressed immediately. We are a town with rich and wonderful resources. We are just about the only one without this system on the Eastside. We are most certainly one of the only affluent towns without this. I don't care if it happens after my kids leave Little League - just as long as it happens. We NEED this, truly. Thank you for considering my comments.
