Where should we focus improvements to bus service in Sammamish?

Our Virtual Town Hall on bus service in Sammamish drew a grand total of 493 responses. At 3 minutes per response, that translates into more than 24 hours of public comment at a City Council meeting. Again, thank you for taking part!
As the city continues to discuss the need for additional bus service in Sammamish with both Metro and Sound Transit, the statistics we've collected through Virtual Town Hall should be quite valuable. Here's a summary of your feedback:
- 57.6 percent of respondents currently use bus service
- 61.5 percent use bus service during commuting hours
- The most common destination: 61.1 percent travel to Seatlle or Eastgate
- 38.7 percent catch their bus at a stop along 228th Avenue.
- 28.8 percent catch their bus at the Issaquah Highlands Park & Ride
- 12.9 percent catch their bus at the South Sammamish Park & Ride
If Metro were to provide more commuter bus service from the south end of Sammamish:
- 51.7 percent would prefer a bus to Seattle with no stops
- 22.5 percent would prefer a bust to Seattle with one stop at Eastgate
If Metro were to provide more commuter bus service from the north end of Sammamish:
- 30 percent would prefer a bus to Seattle with highway stops at Microsoft and the Univesity
- 22.5 percent would prefer shuttle service from the South Sammamish Park & Ride to the Redmond Transit Center or the Bear Creek Park & Ride
When Metro expands Route 269, a route that circulates from Redmond to Sammamish to the Issaquah Highlands Park & Ride to the Issaquah Transit Center, and back:
- 47.8 percent would use it to go to the Issaquah Highlands Park & Ride
- 33.9 percent would use it to go to Redmond's Bear Creek Park & Ride
If non-commute hour bus service were provided:
- 74.8 percent would prefer additional regular shuttle service from Sammamish to Redmond and from Sammamish to Issaquah.
