Bus Service in Sammamish
Where should we focus improvements to bus service in Sammamish?

Prior to the 2008 national recession, Sammamish had much better bus service than it does today. Like much of the Puget Sound region, our city received a number of service cuts at that time. Despite considerable growth in our community in the last 8 - 10 years, only limited service has been restored.
Your city has been actively engaged in discussions with both Metro and Sound Transit regarding the need for additional/expanded bus service to our community.
It would be very helpful – whether you’re a current bus rider or not – if you could help us with the following survey.
Here’s where we stand today:
- The city has NO mid-day or weekend bus service.
- Route 216 – In the morning, this southbound bus picks up passengers in Sammamish, and then stops at the Issaquah Highlands Park-n-Ride, Eastgate Park-n-Ride, and Rainier Avenue on the way to Seattle. It reverses that route during the afternoon commute.
- Route 219 – In the morning, this southbound bus picks up passengers in Sammamish, and then stops at the Issaquah Highlands Park-n-Ride and Eastgate Park-n-Ride on the way to Seattle. It reverses that route during the afternoon commute.
- Route 269 – In the morning and evening, buses on this route travel north and south through Sammamish, beginning at the Issaquah Transit Center and ending at the Overlake Park-n-Ride, or beginning at the Overlake Park-n-Ride and ending at the Issaquah Transit Center.
- Route 218 – This bus starts at the Issaquah Highlands Park-n-Ride and goes to Seattle, stopping at the Eastgate Park-n-Ride and Rainier Avenue. It reverses that route during the afternoon commute. It does not pass through Sammamish.
- Route 554 – For Sammamish residents, this is an early morning bus to Seattle (leaves S. Sammamish Park-n-Ride at 4:44 a.m., 5:18 a.m.) and a late evening bus back to Sammamish (arrives at S. Sammamish Park-n-Ride at 7:40 p.m., 8:34 p.m. and later). This route has several stops along the way.
Please take a few moments to fill out this brief survey.
