Please share your thoughts on Asheville budget priorities
Asheville City Council wants to make sure the priorities of all residents are heard at the beginning of the budget process and provide a deeper look at finance and how funds are allocated.
Staff has been holding monthly work sessions to provide City Council and the community with a deeper look at City finances and how money is allocated. Information provided a focused look at each department’s programs, level of service, budget, staffing, partnerships and goals. You can find the presentations and detailed information here.
Additionally, City staff conducted four community meetings to provide information on the budget process and collect additional input on investment priorities and current City projects. In addition to the input gathered on priorities, formal plans (Comprehensive Plan, Department master plans, etc) couupled with funding constraints and other factors will all be incorporated into the City Council’s decision-making process. Find a link to the budget presentation here.
