It struck me that he would be connecting to the community through multiple people who are already inmeshed in the Asheville scene, so that resonated with me. I also think that having a ritual that brings different community members together is something unique that I don't recall seeing before in Asheville.

It was very meaningful that they illustrated the various important aspects of the community that have been lost on 'the block.' As a resident of Asheville, I'm only recently learning about its rich history, so anything that draws people there is important to me.

I think the large scale visuals of children of color are a welcome sight and I fully support this. I would advise taking care with how the children are selected so that it doesn't become a burden on the "winners." I would also make sure that the children who are chosen are full participants in the project and aren't simply used for their likeness.
