All of the proposals were so creative and I feel necessary. I want all three of them to be realized. I love the idea of a ritual and am glad that there would be permanent markers of Stumptown. I wonder if the ritual and parade would continue after the second year and even grow larger each year. My main concern is that very few locals and visitors would ever see the markers.

I was torn between this one and the Color Dreamers. Mainly because that list of 1100 homes, businesses, doctors, shops, churches should be commemorated no matter which project is chosen. When I was reminded of that list I wanted to cry and rage at the same time! It was a terrible and unfair loss and few people know about it. All of those homes had gardens and fruit trees. Don't get me started!! It is a great project idea and I still can't decide which one I want to choose.

This one remains at the top of my list mainly because I miss the portraits that were on the empty building on Eagle Street for so long. I hope they are safe somewhere. The only thing I am concerned about is the cutting of a tree. I don't want any trees cut. But the plan to use the young people, to honor the artists, musicians, poets, dancers and to use nature for rest and meditation is wonderful.
