Do you have other thoughts about a potential bike share program in Asheville you would like to add?
I think it won’t be used and will cause random bikes to be left all over our city. I think the only people that will use them will be tourists who won’t know how to use them safely and will cause greater congestion on roads and sidewalks downtown. As someone who lives in South Asheville, this idea is laughable because of the lack of bike trails and the crazy busy roads. This program would simply be a waste down here, and why would I want to pay for a program that’s not applicable to where I live when we aren’t even given safe sidewalks to walk places?
