The City of Asheville is on the search for its next top leader! Asheville City Council is committed to being as inclusive and transparent as possible in its search for its next City Manager.

What does a City Manager do? The person in this role is like a CEO for the City. While Council crafts policy, the City Manager directs staff to turn that policy into action.

City Council hires the City Manager to carry out policy and ensure that all residents are equitably served.

Before we advertise for this position, the City would like to hear from the community first. Community input will be gathered and considered in the development of recruitment materials.
