What do you consider your top three priorities when it comes to being "Climate Ready"? Mainstream the use of climate projections (not just past patterns) in planning, design, and budgeting, Protect water resources, Reduce non-climate system stressors: pollution, hydromodification, disease, and economic/demographic pressures, Monitor the changing climate and its biophysical effects, in real time, Increase emergency preparedness, Protect buildings, infrastructure, and transportation systems, Protect energy resources, Promote food system security and agricultural climate preparedness, Protect coastal, bayside, and inland “buffer zones”, Reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Increase the knowledge, ability and capacity to respond to climate impacts, especially in vulnerable populations, Promote a sustainable, climate-resilient economy, Promote healthy communities
Are there any other additional climate adaptation objectives you woud like to have considered in addition to the list above? Are there any that you think are missing? In Sonoma County "Promote food system security and agricultural climate preparedness" is code for "help grape growers get even richer", which does nothing to prepare for actual food shortages that will result from serious climate disruption of global supply chains. A top priority should be growing real food, not wine for rich people.
In what ways do you think climate change will impact you, your family and your work the most? I anticipate having to move to Canada in the next 40 years to avoid killer heatwaves, fires, and the street gangs that will form when the droughts wipe out the agricultural base of our County and State economy.
What actions in the near-term do you believe the community of Sonoma County should be taking? Find a way to grow real food so we have something to eat before evacuating north.
What are three adaptation actions that you, your organization or your family is doing or is planning on doing? Saving money to move north, stockpiling dry goods and water filtration devices, learning how to shoot.

In what ways do you think climate change will impact you, your family and your work the most? We live on a well and may be impacted by changing water tables.
What actions in the near-term do you believe the community of Sonoma County should be taking? Getting citizens involved now is essential to enlist creative ideas and help prepare our communities.
What are three adaptation actions that you, your organization or your family is doing or is planning on doing? I am trying to become better about purchasing sustainable and local sources of food.
On a broader level, I would like to get actively involved around the issue of food waste.

Thank you for taking the Moving Forward 2040 Survey! This is your chance to share any other thoughts or questions about transportation. Then make sure to claim this response on the next screen. In order to encourage bicycling, it's important to have quality road surfaces at the edges of roads, and frequent cleanings of these road edges of debris. It's an outrage that roadways are being resurfaced without any apparent attention to the quality of these edges: invisible sags and rises that act as "speed-bumps" causing loss of control as cyclist's hands are knocked away from handlebar. Likewise, when surfaces are patched after utility repairs, the patch should be at-grade, not an additional layer on top, to prevent bumps and potential loss of control. At the very least, such irregularities should be signed or clearly outlined in a way visible to cyclist during poor lighting conditions such as very contrasty shadow/sunlight pattern, or driving at dusk. Road condition and parallel parking where there should instead be a bike lane are the major disincentives for my cycling more.

I currently drive an electric vehicle. The biggest issue has been range, and charging stations. There are a bunch of charging stations around but we need them in places that make sense. Since charging takes hours they need to be at places that one will be for hours such as business parks, near restaurants and movies (recreation), and near people's homes.

Expansion of SCT scheduling in the outlying areas (Routes 20, 30, 44/48 & 60) is becoming crucial. There are people who work in areas later than bus schedules dictate, ESPECIALLY on weekends. Personally, four buses in and out of west Sonoma County/Russian River corridor on weekends is an insult to the community at large. The earliest anyone out this way can get into Santa Rosa on a weekend is 10:30am, provided it's on time and not a holiday stoppage.
