The City of Tamarac plans to begin designing the new Waters Edge Park in 2017. What amenities would you like to see in this park?

Thank you for your input! We are very pleased with the participation and the wide variety of ideas received.  

Thus far, the proposed design features include several items you found important.  We are planning to build a multi-purpose pathway, since many of you expressed a need for a walking or jogging path (including a recommendation for a labyrinth!). Quite a few of you indicated that the playground should be covered, so the request for proposals that will be issued in winter of 2017 will specify a covered playground as one of park features.  Shade is a common theme among many comments, so we are planning to include landscaping and picnic shelters to provide relief from the sun.  The exercise stations will offer outdoor fitness opportunities for all ages.  And of course, we cannot forget the basics necessary for the enjoyment of the park - a restroom facility and a parking lot are also in the plans.

Many of you mentioned a desire for a water feature in this new park.  Due to the budget constraints, we are putting this feature on our wish list along with the athletic courts – our ability to include a spray ground and volleyball/basketball courts will depend on available grant funds and feasible design parameters.
