What’s happening?

The City of Tamarac is committed to continually revitalizing our community and preserving our environment. In fact, a Vibrant Community is one of our Strategic Goals.  To that end, we conducted studies to help pinpoint opportunities to boost the appearance of Tamarac’s major corridors to reflect the City’s identity, enhance the built environment, and position ourselves to meet the needs of the residential and business community.

The next step:

To effectively build upon these opportunities we are updating the City’s Land Development Regulations and preparing amendments to portions of the City’s Comprehensive Plan. (Code sections to be updated include: Land Development Regulations, Landscaping, Signs and Advertising, Subdivisions (Platting, Design Standards), Zoning ). Our main goal is to develop clear and user-friendly regulations that are consistent with the City’s plans and policies.

Your role:

We are looking for resident input on a variety of issues, such as:

• Development standards (e.g., parking, landscaping  and building design standards) that affect the quality of new development and redevelopment;
• Types of zoning districts in Tamarac and the land uses allowed in those districts;
• Procedures by which development activity is approved (or not).
