Strategic Plan Posted

Thank you for letting us know what you feel is important to make sure that Tamarac continues to be The City For Your Life.  Based on input we received from you and your fellow residents online, in person, by email, over the phone, through surveys and through your City Commission, we updated Tamarac’s Strategic Plan to guide the City’s priorities for the future. 

We were pleased to learn that you would like us to continue focusing on a few long-term projects that are already underway, especially: the citywide roadway, walkway and bikeway improvements; projects that enhance community appearance; and further development of our parks and recreation system.  You may view the latest strategic plan, including the key initiatives and performance indicators for each of our five strategic goals here.

Be assured, even if your recommended improvement is not in the long-range strategic plan, we’ve heard you and have already taken action to address some of your concerns.  For example, the newly opened Mainlands Park is dog friendly so that dog lovers on the East side of the City and their four-legged friends can enjoy a day in the park together. 

Some of you have brought up traffic safety.  You will be happy to know that we have revised the traffic calming policy to lower the threshold required to install traffic calming devices.  We continue to focus on serving the needs of our residents on a daily basis.  BSO – Tamarac district is committed to addressing safety concerns every day, so please continue to report speeding, as well as any suspicious activity, so we can make sure that Tamarac roadways are safe, and the City remains among the ten Broward cities with the lowest crime rates.
