Community Conversations at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library
Throughout the year, the Virginia Beach Public Library hosts Community Conversations at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library. These are small group conversations about topics of local and national interest. For future planning, please share your ideas for possible future topics.
Of the top five topics you rated highest, why are these important to you?
Action taken to address sea level rise is the most urgent, as the consequences of action taken today will be years away from benefiting us
Transportaation modes must anticipate as well as possible the need of the generations that succeed us. Acquiring rights-of-way now are wise moves. Making trucking and railroad service to and from the port must be improved, which would also benefit the tourism industry.
Energy sources of the future must be more benign to the health and environment of global citizens.
If not listed above, what topics would you like to see discussed?
Historical preservation. And how about a real look at how a few wealthy Princess Anne County familiies divvied up what became Virginia Beach?
