Throughout the year, the Virginia Beach Public Library hosts Community Conversations at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library. These are small group conversations about topics of local and national interest. For future planning, please share your ideas for possible future topics.
Of the top five topics you rated highest, why are these important to you?
On sea level, I agree with the first response. This is urgent for us.
When it comes to natural disasters, I wonder how responsibility for coping is divided among government, NGOs, and individuals. If there is a mismatch in perceptions, that could make a disaster worse.
On transportation, the public is divided, We need to talk with each other.
Racial tension is really hard to talk about, but clearly it has not gone away.
Energy to me has to do with offshore drilling. I don't think elected officials are listening.
