Throughout the year, the Virginia Beach Public Library hosts Community Conversations at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library. These are small group conversations about topics of local and national interest. For future planning, please share your ideas for possible future topics.
Of the top five topics you rated highest, why are these important to you?
Energy: It's important to have a plan for long-term renewable energy. There may be some good in local initiatives.
Racial Tension: This is inescapable for the majority of us. Discussion will help.
Transportation: Light Rail may already be outmoded. We could discuss other more modern options and success stories from cities worldwide.
Natural Disasters: Part of this goes hand in hand with sea level rise. Should localities change building codes, zoning, and infrastructure?
Sea Level Rise: Should coastal cities begin backing away from the oceans? Should planning include future flood areas?
